Nigeria Senate Approves Hike in Minimum Wage to N70,000 with Periodic 3-Year Reviews

The Nigeria Senate has approved an increase in the national minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000. The approval also shortens the wage review period from five years to three years. The bill, proposed by President Bola Tinubu after consultation with organized labour, passed unanimously and awaits presidential assent.
